SERENDIPITOUS SUNDAY

What a wonderful day we had! We managed to keep The Girl entertained while lounging in bed until the reasonable hour of 8:30 a.m. (gasp!). Breakfast and more lounging was followed by yard work and play. But then it all started to unravel. The Girl would not go down for her nap. But SuperDad to the rescue!!!! He scooped her up and went to the harbor to look at the tide pool. As soon as they arrived, they ran into friends we haven't seen for nine years (this is the serendipitous part). Hubby gave me a call to head on over to the beach. We visited with Chris & Carol while The Girl had an absolute blast playing in the dunes with their nearly-10 year-old twins. What a wonderful, unexpected surprise! It's as if the years melted away and we laughed and joked and remembered our fun times (like my first camping experience. Ugh.). And the kids were lovely and the sun was going down and we hugged goodbye on the beach and it really was a wonderful day.
