DADDY IS AT WORK

The Girl: Daddy?
Me: Daddy is at work, honey
Girl: Honey, ha ha! Honey!
Later
Girl: Daddy?
Me: Daddy is at work, honey
Girl: Honey, ha ha! Honey!
Even later
Girl: Daddy?
Me: Frickin' Daddy is at frickin' work, honey.
Girl: Honey, ha ha! Honey!

Daddy was at work all frickin' day AND night Tues., Wed. & Thurs., with the earliest arrival time to our humble abode being 10:30 p.m. and the latest 12:30 a.m. Mommy was crabby and on the verge of, well, um, crying, screaming, running away, napping. Not all at the same time. I just wanted to pee without an audience.

To be fair, some of the time was filled with merriment. We had two playdates at the park. On Thursday's trip, Grace decided to spend quality time tagging after the older boys (3-5 yrs) who were going up the hill and rolling down. Unfortunately, she never did learn how to roll over when she was a baby. Honestly. The kid rolled over maybe five times before her first birthday. I could set her in the middle of a blanket on her back and she would stay there like a stuck bug for hours (not that I let her lay there for hours, but it makes for a really funny visual, haha). So after making her way up the hill she tried to roll but settled on scooting. Grass stains everywhere. Silliness ensued.

Friday she tried to be the pied piper and lead the kids (different kids) up the hill. Only one kid followed and his heart wasn't in it. To compensate for the lack of action on the hill, Grace decided that bird chasing was the big draw. More grass stains. Then pinecone hunting led to mud puddles. This is why I always dress the girl in patterned pants when we go to that park.

Stain stick is my friend...
